Yoga to Improve Digestion

Sometimes you might experience indigestion, acid reflux, bloating, pain, constipation or diarrhea. A regular practice of Hatha yoga can help prevent these kind of  problems or aid in healing many types of chronic digestive complaints. The root cause of most of the diseases is inefficient digestion.

The metabolic energy of digestion called agni helps in eliminating the body wastes and toxins. It breaks down the dense physical matter into subtle energy the body needs, generates internal warmth and produces a clear mind. aid digestion and relieve you from problems like acidity, heavy stomach, acid refluxes, gas, stomach pain and constipation that stem from digestion.

Certain yoga asanas (poses) and pranayama techniques can help stimulate the stomach, pancreas and the intestines which in turn increases gastrointestinal circulation, food absorption and mucous production. Not only can certain yoga poses help to align the gastrointestinal tract and make it run more smoothly, but many stomach woes have mental and emotional causes—stress, anxiety, depression, etc.—and practicing yoga can help you achieve a better mind/body balance.
